My daughter turns 2, and how can something so small have so much energy?
It's not quite "the dog ate my homework", but I think it's fair to say "the toddler ate my blog time" this weekend.
If you find yourself sitting for too long at a cookout this summer, try pulling kids around on a blanket. It will definitely get your heart pumping ;)
I'm exhausted! My daughter turned 2 on Friday, so on Saturday we threw a backyard party with all of her friends (she really only has 4 friends), and lots of our friends and family. What seemed like a should have been a laid back affair ended up taking about 8 hours of preparation! It ended up being a nice day, but my daughter played from dawn til dusk. Sleep, wake up, repeat on Sunday (minus the party).
While I did not prepare a real blog this week, I did make some observations...
Kids don't have pain, typically. It's rare that kids complain of back pain (other than upper back pain from slouching at school - I hear that a lot, and yes, I fix it!). And, kids rarely sit still. As the party dwindled in the early evening hours on Saturday, the adults continued to sit and chat, and the kids continued to jump and play.
As adults, we blame work for causing us to sit so many hours during the day, but really, we have no excuse on the weekends! Prolonged sitting wreaks havoc on your body and actually cuts your life expectancy! So, get up and move!!
I will revisit the effects of prolonged sitting at another time. I'm wiped out... see you next week!
